Chet was born and raised in Bellingham. He graduated from Sehome High School, followed by Washington State University, and started selling real estate in Whatcom County one week after graduating from WSU — a career that's now spanned more than five decades. What began as a job became a craft, and then something closer to a calling. He loves the art of negotiating, and loves watching buyers find the home they've been dreaming of and helping sellers to their next life chapter.
Over the years, Chet has sold more homes in Whatcom County than any other agent but ask him what he's most proud of, and the answer is the family business he's built alongside his children. Today, Chet works with his daughter Gina and her husband Ford Harris, and his son Jess, who for years sold real estate with Chet but then followed his dream of designing and developing residential and commercial properties in Bellingham, just like his grandfather Jess Kenoyer and his uncle Jeff Kenoyer did. Three generations of Kenoyers, working together, watching the industry change — and holding tight to their standards of ethics and care that have always been the foundation of how this family does business.
Chet is married to his wife Lynette. Together they raised three children in Bellingham — Krista, Gina, and Jess — and are now grandparents to four granddaughters and two grandsons: Kya, Kenna, Kierra, Kysin, Beau, and Ezra. When he's not working, you'll find Chet at a car show, on the lake, on the ski slopes, or at home with his family. After more than 50 years, he still doesn't call selling real estate work, it’s his passion and it shows in every transaction he is involved in.
